Marge’s Cottage was originally part of a small dairy-farm of which our family were lucky enough to acquire in 1997. The cottage was already tenanted to a lady (Marge) and over time we have the privilege to get to know this kind hearted, beautiful lady and she became an integral member of our family.
Marge lived in the cottage for another eight years before she moved to be closer to family and the cottage was left vacant, falling into disrepair. In 2013 we decided to either bestow some overdue TLC on this humble cottage or demolish her… bestowing TLC won!
We carefully restored the cottage piece by piece using local craftsmen to maintain it’s traditional features and charm. Of course, one of the most important decisions was ‘what to name her’. We tossed a lot of lovely possibilities around, but we all just kept coming back to… ‘its Marge’s Cottage’… so it is. Marge’s opened her doors to guests in November 2014.
Everything you find in Marge’s Cottage has been thoughtfully selected to make you feel at home. This Cottage is designed to nurture and restore both body and soul. Sink into a rain water bath, enjoy the cosy fire with a wine or cuppa or sit on the verandah and watch the sunset… these are only a few suggestions and the choice is yours.
